MONROVIA: Bong County Electoral District Six Representative Moima Briggs-Mensah has reproached Wednesday’s fire disaster at the Capitol Building on the existing division among members of the House of Representatives.
Representative Mensah taking to her social media handle described the fire as a devastating symbol of the political divisions and failures in leadership haunting the nation.
“This fire is not just an accident; it is a stark reflection of the toll that political strife and power struggles have taken on the very foundation of our governance,” she stated.
The lawmaker voiced her frustration as a member of the 55th National Legislature, regretting the current dilemma that has left a segment of the House of Representatives vulnerable to such incidents.
Rep. Briggs-Mensah underscored the ongoing conflict within the House of Representatives, especially between the majority bloc, led by Rep. Richard Koon, and the minority members headed by embattled House Speaker, Cllr. J. Fonati Koffa, as a primary aspect pitched into the disaster.
