LIBERIA: Ministry of Education Dedicates New High School in Barraken Town

MARYLAND: The local Ministry Of Education  office in Maryland has officially turned over a modern High School building to inhabitants residing in Barraken Town.

The dedication ceremony was held on the school campus, and graced by Chiefs, Women group, CEO- Emmanuel Toe, Pleebo District DEO-Ceries Doe, NTAL-President Kahra George Ivy, Street Child Liberia Coordinator and the acting DEO for Sodoken School District Mr. Daniel Hinneh.

Presenting the school building to the town, the County Education Officer-Emmanuel Toe, lauded ADDRA, World Bank and the Liberian government for such an initiative. He mentioned that the Ministry of Education headed by Min. Jarsor Jallah is under taking School’s projects in Liberia to improve learning system in the country.

CEO-Toe assured his commitment to faculty of the institution and urged them to protect the building for standard learning in the area.

My office is committed to corporate with you, especially teaching staffs to see the building as your ownership. My office is hopeful to seeing over four hundred(400) Students in the building next school year” he stressed.

The County Education Officer stressed that the dedication of the new High School will inhance better learning for school going kids.  He added that Students of Barraken should maintained the building instead of leaving the school volunarable.

Receiving the gesture, the principal for the School Mr. Mathew W. Kraibo commended the Ministry of Education, and international pathners for such a vibrate development in the area.

He explained that the building will be use for it internal purpose, as it will accommodate over four hundred (400) Students next school year for the first time.

Kraibo added that the dedication ceremony marked a significant milestone in the live of inhibants in Barraken Town.

Since I became principal for Barraken Junior High School in the early 90s, this is the first time to see such a modern High School constructed in the Town” he lamented.

Mathew Kraibo stated that, upon the completion of the school project, the lacked of furnitures in the building are issues the Liberia government and international donners need to address quickly for the conducive learning atmosphere of students next academy.

The principal however pleaged his support to the Ministry of Education local office for close collaboration and to see the uplifting of the institution.
