LIBERIA: LOCAL  AUTHORITIES DEMAND THE REMOVAL OF METER INSTALLATION IN MARYLAND COUNTY

Maryland-Liberia: The District Development Council, DCC, has concluded a day long meeting with LIBENERGY Management demanding for the removal of meters installation over higher cost payment.

The program which was held at the Pleebo City Hall over the weekend, was attended by local government officials, zoner’s heads, Authority of LIBENERY, Pleebo City Mayor Larry G. Geekor and Maryland County Supt. Hon. Henry Cole.

Addressing the congregation, the Secretary of the Council Mr. Kanta Nugba stressed that the one hundred thirty united state Dallas (130USD) for the meter installation is too much for citizens to comply with while calling on the management for prize reduction.

The amount requesting from LIBENERGY to install meter to an individual house causing serious problem. This means that, the less fortunate people will not be able to have power in their homes.” he stated.

Representing the home office of District#2 Representative, the Coordinater Mr. Standford Neufville said Maryland County Legislative caucus is concerned about the prepaid meters, noting that a written communication was sent to the entity by Representative Anthony Williams to halt the on going meters installation process until further notification is made.

However, Pleebo City Mayor Larry G. Geekor said, his office has made several efforts citing LIBENENGY Management to adhere to citizens concerns of reducing the charges.

Meanwhile, local authorities in the County headed by Supt. Henry Cole has with immediate effect put halt to meters installation process across Pleebo District.

The decision was reached as the result of high chargers on citizens for meters connections.
