MONROVIA: The Supreme Court of Liberia Justice in Chamber His Honor Yusuf Kaba has issued a writ of Prohibition prayed for by suspended Central Bank of Liberia governor Aloysius Tarlu.

Governor Tarlu, considered his suspension as illegal by president Joseph Boakai and something that lacks constitutional backing.

It’s alleged that the supreme court justice believes that the matter at hand is a constitutional matter that needs to be heard by the full bench of the Supreme Court.

This our sources also alleged that the associate Justice Kaba, has sent the matter to the full bench of the supreme court for final constitutional interpretation.

The parties on Tuesday August 6,2024 appear before the justice in Chamber for a conference following a summons issue on them.

This summon comes after suspended Governor Tarlue filed a writ of prohibition against President Boakai for wrongful suspension, in accordance with the law.

On July 30, 2024, President Joseph Boakai suspended CBL governor Tarlue, citing a GAC audit report that revealed significant compliance failures at the CBL from 2018-2023.

Tarlue is, however, contesting his suspension, stating that the President’s decision was unlawful and unconstitutional.

However, our sources said justice Kaba, did not issued a particular writ ,but wants the responding party the government filed in their returns.
