MONROVIA: The Government of Liberia has announced five thousand United States dollars($5.000.00) as a tip for anyone providing credible and meaningful information that could assist in the investigation of the fire that gutted the Capitol Building early Wednesday morning.
The fire, which destroyed the joint chambers of the National Legislature has been classified as an arson attack.
The announcement, made through the Ministry of Justice, is part of efforts to expedite the investigation and hold those responsible accountable.
Authorities believe the inducement will encourage witnesses or individuals with crucial knowledge about the incident to come forward.
“The government is committed to uncovering the truth behind this act of destruction,” a statement from the Ministry read. “We urge citizens and residents with credible information to contact the Liberia National Police or the Ministry of Justice immediately. Your identity will be protected.”

The fire, which gutted structures of the first branch of the Liberian government, has sparked widespread irritation and raised concerns about security and governance.
President Joseph N. Boakai, during a visit to the scene, condemned the destruction and promised swift action to ensure justice is served.

Initial findings revealed an empty Clorox bottle suspected of containing a liquid resembling gasoline at the scene, which investigators believe could be a critical piece of evidence.
