The release further revealed that in Minister Kruah’s Letter referenced by President Boakai, the Labour Minister indicated,

During our tour of major concessions sites, in some instances, we have made recommendations and/or have taken decisions in the interest of our Liberian workers.”

In response, President Boakai informed Minister Kruah to remain steadfast in the issuance of work permits for employees of casinos, clubs, and other entertainment centers and the implementation of his duties in general.

The release also indicated President Boakai’s expression of satisfaction with the Labour Ministry ‘Student Vacation Job Program’, saying:

The Student Vacation Job Program is particularly laudable as it would help to instill a sense of work ethic into the students while providing them an income”, the release quotes President Boakai’s letter to Labour Minister Kruah.

Meanwhile, by directive of the Labour Minister, the Inspector-General of the Ministry of Labour Charles Brown, and the team have commenced inspection of all casinos, clubs, and other entertainment centers across the country, to ensure compliance with labor regulations, primarily obtainment or renewal of Alien Work Permit.

However, Minister Kruah and team are expected to resume the ongoing nationwide labor assessment tour to major concessions operating in Nimba County shortly.
