LIBERIA: President Boakai Commissions three Generators and a Fire Truck at RIA and Dedicates 20 Police Vehicles!

MARGIBI: President Joseph Nyuma Boakai today commissioned three donated generators and a fire truck at the Roberts International Airport in Margibi County. The Liberian Leader during the ceremony also dedicated 20 police vehicles.

“We don’t want history to repeat itself where another airline refuses to land in Monrovia due to a lack of power. This gesture ensures that the airport will no longer be in darkness”,

President Boakai Stated

The generators – with one at 1250 kV and two at 110 kV each, will serve as vital standby power supplies.

“Liberian airports, mainly the RIA, have faced serious maintenance challenges since the end of the civil war, but under my administration, I look forward to seeing a dedicated team at RIA ensuring proper maintenance,”

President Boakai urged LAA management.

The President further thanked Ibrahim Mahama, CEO of Engineers & Planners, for the donations.

“We are grateful for Ibrahim’s generosity and let’s all Liberians appreciate him for his kind gesture,” he said.

The 20 police vehicles will support the Liberian police force in enhancing public safety.

However, Ibrahim Mahama, the CEO of Engineers Planners, affirmed his organization’s commitment to Liberia’s growth. “We are dedicated to aiding Liberia in any way possible,” he assured.

President Boakai concluded, “The airport is not a joke. If we want investment, it must be through here and we are happy to support the police with these new vehicles also,” Boakai stated.

Vice President Jeremiah Koung, Police Inspector General Gregory Coleman, and Liberia Airport Authority Managing Director Jero Mends-Cole, and others were also at the event.
